Gal 109 Blog Challenge

 Yo!

Welcome back friends!! I am so so drained today and couldnt find it in me to get all dressed up and pretty for a post D: But I decided I could try out this super fun blogging challenge thats been very popular amongst my fellow gaijin gals! You can find the origional here if youd also like to participate~ Gyaru 109 Month ~ Event

I also got my 2nd dose today!! woop woop! My arm hurts a ton rn but the outcome will be worth it~ anyways! lets get down to it.

Name / Gyaru nickname and country

Hello! I am cherri from the U.S! specifically Socal~

Since when are you gyaru?

I have been actively dressing and practicing gal since january of this year!

How did you discover the style?

I discovered gal through Rina Fujimoto one of the many Idolm@ster ladies I produce!

What's your current substyle? Why do you like it?

My current substyle is flequating between himekaji and Ane gyaru. I love himekaji because its the perfect mix of cutesy and bohemian that i adore! Im a sucker for flower patterns and color palletes consiting of nudes, whites, and pinks. I fell for Ane recently because I realized how confident dressing in it made me feel, the style is alot easier to dress compared to himekaji and is perfect for busy days and days where i dont have much time to do my hair.

What are your current booms?

My current  booms consist of my melody, hot pink hair, tote bags, purikura dates, grey contacts, leopard print, oversized sweaters, uggs, shushus, blinged flip phones, and jewelash

Share 2 of your fav codes. Why do you like them so much?

I love this code because its very cozy!! It could use ALOT more bling and decoration though, im thinking a belt and lots of bracletes to make it more gal!

I like this code alot because i was really struggling to find something to match this dress! I decided to bring out the pale pink in the champane print and incorprate white from the polka dots! This code could use hair accesories, bigger hair, and better jewrly, but i really love it and cant wait to revamp it sometime! (also nails)

Share 3 things your learned during your Gyaru journey.

My gyaru journey taught me alot, the most important being that hidding yourself and your hobbies away from the world really harms your mental health and livelyness. Practicing gyaru outside of the comfort of my house really improved my confidence and happiness. I learned that being different in a suburban town isnt as scary as i made it out to be! People are usually just curious about something different, and even if they are being rude screw them!! Lastly gyaru taught me the importance of community. I struggled for months feeling like i was going in circles unable to improve my makeup and gyaru energy, that was until i joined a gyaru discord and found the most loving, helpful, and genuine community. Without goining some sort of com its incredibly hard to improve, because improvement is easier to achieve when others can help point out what you could do right.

Share 3 gaijin gals and 3 Japanese gals you look up to.

The gaijins i most look up too and are incredibly responsible for my growth and interest in gyaru are: @/georgie_piyo @hellolizziebee and the lovely (retired) @emiriichu. I look up to these gals a ton and based alot of my style off of their advice, blogs, and videos! they were extremely helpful as all their advice and resources were english and catered to gaijin gals with simular facial features to mine! As for japanese gals I fell in love with Sakurina, Satomin Yukawa, and current egg model Erika! these gals have amazing looks that really inspire me to improve! I love being able to see their own growth and how theyve improved across their gyaru years as well!

What's your favorite Gyaru memory?

While i dont have many gyaru memories my favorite has to be going to little tokyo for my birthday and getting to do some purikura with my mom! Alot of my friends are far away and unavaliable so my birthday was spent alone, but my amazing single mother decided to take me out to little tokyo so i could shop and get all dressed up! I had such a good time wearing gyaru brand out and buying dolly wink lashes. I managed to drag her to to take some purikura with me and had a blast. Im truly greatful to have a mother who supports my hobbies and style 100%

What would do advice to people who want to start in the style but doesn't have the courage yet?

For those who want to start gyaru but are filled with worry and doubt. I feel you! heck i was you back in 2020, but you have to think about why you want to do gyaru. Can you feel that this is something your meant to do? Something that you can see yourself years from now still doing? If you go out and feel like something is missing and that you really really would love to be gyaru in that moment, you have to go for it. Even if its nerve wrecking to dress so eye catching in public, you will def regret never trying it. Join the community for advice and help so that you dont feel so alone!

Woooo!! Were done~ This was such a fun activity!! I really enjoyed this, so if you havent already give this challenge a try!! Its so late now ;; and my arm is feeling like hell so this section will be shorter than usual <3

Thank you so much for reading!! See you guys on the weekend with a new look <3
